The official, continuously-updated documentation and knowledge center of the VSKYLABS 'Test-Pilot': SR-71-TB Project, developed for X-Plane 12, providing interaction, setup and detailed aircraft documentation.
The VSKYLABS 'Test-Pilot': SR-71-TB project uses X-Plane 12 as a physics-based test environment to explore what it actually means to simulate Mach-3 flight, extreme altitude operations, and the tight connection between aerodynamics, propulsion and aircraft behavior throughout the extensive SR-71 flight envelope regimes. This site serves as the central reference for that work, bringing together tutorials, technical notes, and supporting material related to the project.
Alongside the formal documentation, I will be publishing 'Test-Pilot Notes': focused articles and observations derived from development, testing, and analysis of the SR-71-TB in X-Plane 12,as well as the legendary real-world SR-71 Blackbird. These notes address both the challenges of simulating such an aircraft and the real-world design principles behind the legendary SR-71 Blackbird.
