ABBREVIATED CHECKLIST
STARTING ENGINES
- Interphone - CHECKED
- BAILOUT light - CHECKED
- TDI - CHECKED (triple display indicator)
- Fuel quantity - CHECKED
- CG - WITHIN 0.5 PERCENT (warning lights 16.4-17%, 25.3-25.6%)
- No.1 & No.2 oxy - ON AND CHECKED
- Bailer bar - LATCHED & LOCKED (suit seal - 100% oxy for breathing)
- Exterior lights - ON
- Brake - SETTING CHECKED
- First engine - START (left engine usually)
TWO MINUTE AFTER ENGINE START
- Flight controls - STEADY NEUTRAL POSITION
- Flight controls - CHECKED (full deflection and freedom of travel)
- Second engine - START
- TEB - CHECKED (read 15 for each engine)
- Generators - ON & LIGHTS OFF
- Bus tie light - OFF
- External pwr - DISCONNECT
- Fuel system - CHECKED (test button, all lights illuminated)
- Forward bypass - BOTH CONFIRMED OPEN
- Spike and door pos - CHECKED (indicates zero inches aft, fwd bypass 100% opened)
- Brakes - CHECKED (norm & alt), SET ANTI-SKID ON
BEFORE TAXIING
- IFF - STBY
- HF -ON
- INS - CHECKED, SET TO NAV
- DAFICS Preflight BIT - CHECK
- Flight instr & nav eqpt - CHECKED
- UHF-1 & UHF-2 - CHECKED
- VHF radio - CHECKED
- SAS - OFF
- Trim - CHECKED (trim all zero)
- Flight controls - CHECKED
- Shotgun cartridge - CHECKED (with ground grew chief)
- Derich - BOTH CHECKED & REARMED
- A/R system and chute doors - CHECKED CLOSED (air refuel and chute - crew chief)
- ANS mode - SET
- ANS - CHECKED
- INS - CHECKED
- Seat & canopy pins - REMOVED
- Canopy - CLOSED AND LOCKED
- Canopy seal - ON
- Cockpit air - ON (lever, RSO)
- L & R Refrig - ON
- CANOPY UNSAFE, L&R AIR SYS OUT, CKCPIT AIR OFF - LIGHTS OFF.
- Ground air - DISCONNECTED
- OBC pwr - ON (optical bar camera)
- PVD - ON & SET (peripheral vision display)
- NWS - ENGAGED & CHECKED
- Panels & gear pins - SECURED & REMOVED (crew chief)
- OBC self-test - COMPLETED, OPR/STP ON (RSO)
